Private, one-on-one lessons offer learning opportunities not provided in the regular public or private school classroom. Through individualized lessons, students will find growth in all areas of their instrument; knowledge, technique, and musicality. Private lessons will help you gain confidence while you learn advanced performance and practice techniques. Lessons are tailored to individual students' interest and area of need.
In music lessons with Stefan, students will have the opportunity to learn how to/about:
Sight-read
Compose
Transcribe
Improvise
Music Theory
Music History
Audition preparation
Ear training
Consider what you need when taking lessons. Want to learn a new instrument or skill? Maybe you have an important audition coming up? Let me know!
Lessons occur once a week. Once the student has chosen a day and time slot, it should remain unchanged.
*Students MUST practice what they studied/learned in lessons outside of lessons in order for lessons to be beneficial and cost-effective!
24-hour notification is requested for all missed lessons. In the event of an emergency (if the student wakes up sick or needs to cancel) notify me as soon as possible. If you fail to give notification of absence, you will still be charged for the lesson.
If notification is given, I will attempt to make up the lesson.
Schedule policies will follow Roanoke County Public Schools. If the schools are closed for any reason (holidays or weather), I will not be having lessons (with the exception of summer break).

Lessons will take place either virtually or at my home.
In-person or Virtual (Virtual lessons will be conducted via Zoom)
Available lesson intervals:
30-minute lesson: $25
60-minute lesson: $50
Payment
Lessons are to be paid on a week-by-week basis. Payment is due the day of the lesson.

TERMS OF ENROLLMENT
1. Attendance & Cancellations
24-hour notification is requested for all missed lessons. In the event of an emergency (if the student wakes up sick or needs to cancel) notify me as soon as possible. If you fail to give notification of absence before the lesson ("No-Call, No-Show"), you will still be charged for the lesson and will not be eligible for a make-up lesson.
If notification is given, I will attempt to make up the lesson.
If a student is late, the lesson will still end at the schedule time to respect the next student's time slot.

2. Payment Terms
Tuition is due each lesson and must be paid the day of the lesson.
3. Professional Conduct & Communication
To maintain a productive learning environment, students and parents are expected to maintain respectful and timely communication regarding scheduling and practice.
4. Right to Terminate Services
Stefan Castro reserves the right to terminate lessons at any time, for any reason.
While I strive to work with every student, common reasons for dismissal include, but are not limited to:
Repeated unexcused absences or "no-shows."
Failure to remain current on tuition payments.
Lack of student progress due to consistent failure to practice.
Unprofessional or disruptive behavior by a student or parent.
